Cofounder of Relanote
Who Are You?
My name is Stanislav Dimitrov (Stan), and I’m one of the founders of Relanote (https://relanote.com/)— the note-taking tool that helps you connect the dots.
Relanote is а note-taking app that combines both hierarchical and non-hierarchical (wiki-style) note-taking. By leveraging the power of both methods, Relanote adapts to your way of thinking and allows you to create your personal knowledge base
What’s the Story of Your Business?
The story is far from being different or new. We started Relanote to scratch our own itch. We needed a simple, cross-platform and more importantly secure note-taking app that relies on bi-directional links for note organization.
In other words, the 2 main reasons we started it are:
1. To offer people a different knowledge organization methodology, one that uses bi-directional links and graph for a visual overview
2. To provide a truly user-friendly note-taking tool that will allow you to integrate it into your daily workflow
What Has Been Your Biggest Struggle?
Arguably, the biggest struggle is to cut through the noise. It is very easy to launch a note-taking app, but very hard to reach out to potential users and build up trust. Because it is easy to launch such an app, people have been burned by software that were abandoned and no longer supported.
What Has Been Your Greatest Achievement?
Well the launch is one of our biggest achievement since we started working on the project. At the first week we ended up with 1k+ users and had tons of meaningful conversations with users, interested in Relanote.
Where Do You See Yourself and Your Business in 5 Years
In 5 years, most likely, we will be having a dedicated team inside the company that will be developing productivity strategies, tactics and running productivity seminars and sessions completely free. Once the software is established and stable, I think that we will need to help people get more productive and offer solid education on knowledge management.
What Do You Wish You’d Known Before You Started?
I wish we started this in May 2019, when the idea was born and we sketched everything that you can see in this early version of Relanote available today.
Finally, Tell Us Something Interesting About Yourself?
I love digging into my notes that are 4-5-6 years old and explore them. It is a weird feeling of getting back and actually getting to know the person that wrote them and thinking about the context which made me write those notes.
