Andrey Protasevich, Cofounder of Gridprint
Who are you?
Hi! My name is Andrey. I am a UX/UI designer. I like to explore and create. 60% divergent, 40% convergent. I am in search of the best startup for me where I would realize my potential as a product designer or a UX/UI designer. I’m ready for relocation.
Can you tell us the story of your business from idea to where you are now?
Gridprint is a small website where interface designers can find and instantly print baseline grids for paper prototyping of their projects, be it websites, mobile applications or smart watch apps. Gridprint is a an indie project, which I’m busy with during my spare time, after working hours.
The concept of Gridprint came to my mind back in 2014. The idea was to “transfer” a material object (as a result, the user gets a paper sheet with a printed grid) using digital channels due to my own need for such an object at work. I think this is a small step into the future, where anyone can go to somewhat similar to Gridprint and print out, for example, a plate, a chair or a more complex object on a 3D printer using open-source templates.
After Grindprint was successfully launched at ProductHunt.com I received a lot of useful feedback from people, and now on the basis of this research I am going to develop it further. There are plenty of ways to continue development of Gridprint and its concept.
What has been your biggest failure or struggle?
The greatest struggle is struggling with yourself. And I’m glad the struggle is still ongoing :)
And what has been your biggest achievement or success?
I wouldn’t emphasize something special. Goal achievement and success in the broadest sense of the word (status in society and career progression) is the state in which I am now. Happiness is in action, not in the achievement of goals.
What’s your must read business book?
The state of mind and personal philosophy are more important than knowledge in any venture. A vivid example on this topic is the book “Atlas Shrugged” by Ayn Rand.
Who’s your most inspirational CEO or founder?
I will not say anything extraordinary here or point out the one and only. As for me, the most outstanding personalities of today are Steve Jobs, Elon Musk and Richard Branson.
And can you tell us something weird or interesting about yourself?
